Kate Ferber (Performer/Writer)

Kate began working on this project as a teenager, and is now thrilled to carry on Laura Nyro's musical legacy by performing One Child Born. Thank you to her creative team, Adrienne and Louis, for their guidance and hard work realizing this show. Kate is the recipient of the 2010 ASCAP Foundation Desmond Child Anthem Award, which is given to one promising songwriter per year. Upcoming: The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County at The Alliance Theater (book by Stephen King, music by John Mellencamp, musical direction by T Bone Burnett). Recent credits include: The Daughters by Shaina Taub at CAP21, Sometimes in Prague (The TANK), Deep Cover at the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), Factory Girls at NAMT/ Joe’s Pub/ Ars Nova/ Birdland, King of Ghosts at Philly Fringe, Songs of a Night Owl by Niko Tsakalakos at Ars Nova’s ANT Fest. A member of Actors Equity Association, Kate is represented by agency Dulcina Eisen Associates and holds a BFA from NYU Tisch (CAP21). Also a musician and songwriter, Kate is active in the New York music scene and has performed at Joe’s Pub, Birdland, Rockwood Music Hall, The Living Room, and The Beacon Theater among many other New York and East Coast venues both solo, and with various artists and bands. www.kateferber.com


Louis Greenstein (Writer)

Louis Greenstein is a Philadelphia-based freelance writer.  A recipient of a Pennsylvania Council of the Arts playwriting fellowship, his one-act plays, Smoke, Interview with a Scapegoat, and The Convert, were commissioned by Theatre Ariel, published by Dramatic Publishing and produced many times in the U.S. and abroad.  Louis is the co-author of the critically acclaimed With Albert Einstein, a one-man show about the great scientist that stars Don Auspitz and has been performed at the Walnut Street Theater, Princeton University and in schools and science museums around the nation.  Louis's short fiction has appeared in Margins Magazine, Philadelphia Stories, Writing Aloud, Dreamforge and Muse Apprentice Guild. 

Adrienne Campbell-Holt (Director)

Adrienne is the Artistic Director of Colt Coeur, a NY-based theater company. Recent credits include: The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Yale), Dead Man's Cell Phone (NYU/Tisch), Seven Minutes in Heaven (Emerging America Festival, Huntington Theater Company, Boston and HERE Arts Center, NYC), Heart Torture Station (New Georges/Jamon Ice), Missed Connections (Ars Nova), One Child Born: The Music of Laura Nyro (Joe’sPub), The Long Tail (Abrons Arts Center), and Autobahn (NYU/Tisch). Her regional work includes Three Days of Rain (Amphibian Stage, Fort Worth, Texas). Adrienne has spent three summers at Williamstown Theater Festival where she directed the non-Equity company in plays including Daniel MacIvor’s Never Swim Alone and Steven Levenson’s Girls Day. She has assisted Alex Timbers, Anne Kaufman, Michael Greif, and Roger Rees. She is a recent recipient of a Jerome Foundation/Tofte Lake Fellowship, the EST/Sloan grant, a New Georges Affiliated Artist, and a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab. BA Barnard College, Columbia University.
